I was excited to see that he came with the Lion Pappa Arte Palette (five of them actually!!), one of the items I was more interested in trying from the brand. I really like their style - very cute!
This compact little palette, which is about the size of my palm, includes four eyeshadows and a blush. They look like nice, natural colors - and they are!
Here's how it looks opened. I don't like mirror much, mostly because it's vertical and kind of difficult to see much in. I usually don't use the mirrors from compacts or palettes unless I'm on the go so it doesn't bother me.
Here's a closer look at the shadows and blush. The shadows are described as a pearl nude, matte light brown (which is not matte, but shimmery and is more of a taupe to me), pearl gold, and pearl dark brown. The blush is described as a golden peach - it reminds me quite a lot of NARS' Orgasm, but I don't own it to compare!
Swatched without primer
Swatched over Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Primer does make a difference with these shadows! They all swatched quite nicely. The taupe was a bit more sheer and took a few swipes to get a decent swatch, while the dark brown was the most pigmented of the bunch. They're not really on level with Urban Decay shadows which have become my favorite, but they're quite soft and of very nice quality! I haven't worn them without primer, but with primer they last all day! Also while removing the swatches the dark brown was pretty stubborn to disappear, it lightly stained my wrist! The blush is also super nice! I'm really loving it and the glow it gives my cheeks!
Now for something a little different I thought that I would include some of the eye looks I use this palette for! I'm no makeup artist, I'm an amateur and still learning so don't expect anything fantastic, haha.
Here's the first look I made with this palette. I used the white all over the lid and as a highlight. I lined my lashline slightly with the taupe and used it in the crease, as well. Then I took the dark brown in the outer corners and slightly blended into the crease. I just paired it with some brown gel liner and Lancome Doll Lashes mascara.
Here's the second look which I actually wore to church today! It's very natural and subtle. All I used was the white all over lid again and as a highlight, and the taupe in the crease. I paired it with a little bit of pencil eyeliner and Rimmel Max Volume Flash mascara.
And then for this last look, as usual I used the white all over the lid and as a highlight, then layered the gold all over the lid and used the dark brown in the crease. I just winged out my pencil liner and kept on the Rimmel mascara.
So I really do like this palette! Right now they're on the Sephora website for $4CA, so if you're interested I would grab it sooner or later before the brand is no longer available!
