This Go Glam Color Palette by Avon was a holiday palette last year that I received being a representative. It's now available again in Campaign 21 for up to 70% off while supplies last.
Since it's available again and I have it I decided to do a small overview and show swatches in case you're interested! It would make a nice little stocking stuffer for the holidays. It comes in a decorative gift box and is 12cm long by 10 cm width. It contains:
- 20 eyeshadows
- 12 lip glosses
- 2 blushes
- 1 mirror
- 1 blush brush
- 1 double-ended eye applicator
- 1 double-ended lip applicator
Both compartments open
The top compartment has a snap closure and holds the brushes, glosses, and blushes. The bottom compartment slides out and holds all of the eyeshadows. The blushes are both 3.12g and the eyeshadow and glosses are all 0.568g.
The brushes it comes with are pretty much useless.. The lip brush is hard and stiff and just all around awful. If you try to use it for the glosses you'll just end up destroying them. The blush brush is much too small and the hairs feel.. just really weird. I don't even know how to describe the feeling. So please.. use your own brushes!
Here's a closer look at both compartments..
The colors are quite nice..! For eyeshadows you have a nice mix of neutrals and colors.
To be honest, I find that the quality of this palette is nicer then Avon's regular line of makeup. The blushes are very soft and silky. I think the formula of the shadows is much better then their regular ones. They're very soft, silky, pigmented, and pleasant to use whereas their regular shadows can be a bit hard and dry with not much color payoff. I was very impressed with the quality in this palette!
So let's see the swatches.. First up are the glosses:
They're all sheer glosses, and while some are more pigmented then others they all look about the same on the lips.
You get a more natural shade and then a more dramatic shade.. The shimmery pink on the left kind of reminds me of NARS Orgasm or the blush from tokidoki's Lion Pappa Arte Palette. The blush on the right is matte and is like a dark coral.
Lighter shades are on the first two rows while the darker shades are on the bottom two. These were all swatched without a primer or base and I was quite pleased with the results. They're pretty much all shimmery or satin shades. And again, I find the quality of these to be so much better then Avon's regular shadows. Please, Avon! Make all of your shadows like these ones!
So overall I think that this is a really nice little palette and would make a nice stocking stuffer or gift for the holidays. It was originally $24.99, but is now marked down to $19.99 in Campaign 21. It is while supplies last though, so if you're interested talk to your Avon rep or go online. And remember, you can order from Campaign 21 until November 1.
