Two Nail Polishes Fit For a Monsters Ball!

Today I have two nail polishes to share with you that are certainly fitting if you're going to a Monsters Ball this Halloween! This is Bat My Eyes (left) and Howl You Doin' (right) from the Halloween 2013 Monsters Ball collection by China Glaze, and they are gorgeous.

Here's Howl You Doin' (middle left) and Bat My Eyes (middle right) swatched on a nail wheel. They're both full of tons of spooky sparkles! And here they are swatched on my nails:

Howl You Doin' is an aubergine with lots of different colored purple glitters (they almost look like flakies in these pictures!) and Bat My Eyes is a black base packed full of gold glitters. These polishes are so pretty it's almost scary..!
As for application, both were a on the sheer side and needed at least two coats (which is what I used) but this is pretty normal for glitters with colored bases. Along with being sheer these were also a wee bit runny though, but nothing too bad.
So, what do you think? Which one is your favorite?

My Fall Lip Picks!

Today I thought that I would share some of my picks for fall lips, and so here I am with nine of them. The shades aren't incredibly diverse (they're mostly berries along with a few nude choices) but still different..! Let's get onto swatches, shall we?

From left to right we have Maybelline's ColorSensational High Shine Lip Gloss in Raspberry Ablaze, Lancome's Rouge in Love Lipstick in Rose Sulfureuse, Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush, Lancome's L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Exotic Orchid, Lancome's Color Design Lipstick in Sugared Maple, Clinique's Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, Revlon's ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait, Rimmel's Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick in 08, and Revlon's Matte Lipstick in Mauve it Over.

I love each color (obviously, or they wouldn't be in this post!), but the formulas for each product are great too. The only formulas I'm not too crazy about are the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain and the Clinique Almost Lipstick. The Revlon balm stain is one of my favorite fall lip shades though, and the Clinique Black Honey is nice when I want something darker but not too dark so I don't let the formulas effect me much.

So, what about you? What are some of your fall lip picks?

Maybelline ColorSensational High Shine Lip Glosses Review & Swatches

I have two more products from Maybelline's limited edition Fall 2013 Runway Collection, and they are the Color Sensational High Shine Lip Glosses in Lavender Lavish (top) and Raspberry Ablaze (bottom). I've actually wanted to try these glosses out for a while but there was never a shade that really interested me until now.

I really like the packaging for these glosses.. it's just very sleek and simple. They come with a slanted doe-foot applicator that's also pretty flexible, making for easy and precise application.

Here's Lavender Lavish swatched on the left, and Raspberry Ablaze on the right. Pretty, right? Lavender Lavish is a cool toned pink with a hint of purple, and Raspberry Ablaze is a rich berry color. Here's some lip swatches (sorry about the quality!):

I wasn't expecting these glosses to be so opaque so I was happily surprised when I tried them on. I personally don't like sheer glosses and I was excited to see such good color pay-off on the lips!

As for the formula, it's applies easily and is comfortable to wear. I can't stand sticky glosses, and these are only a little bit tacky at the most. Overall, I kind of love these. The only thing I dislike about them is that they have a generic lipgloss taste and smell that's kind of icky.. but otherwise I love 'em and would definitely recommend!

Maybelline EyeStudio Eyeshadow Palette in Autumn Dream Review & Swatches

I'm finally back with a new post! Today I'll be reviewing this Maybelline EyeStudio palette in Autumn Dream, which is from their limited edition Fall 2013 Runway Collection.

I've tried these particular palettes before and was impressed with the pigmentation and texture of the shadows, so I was hoping that this one would have the same quality. Spoiler alert: it did.

Autumn Dream first caught my eye with its beautiful jewel tones - perfect for fall. It contains an off-white with gold glitter, a shimmering violet and emerald, and a deep, almost black blue with light blue sparkles.

The shades are all gorgeous and swatched wonderfully. They're buttery smooth, soft, and have such rich color pay-off with just one swipe. I'm definitely impressed! If jewel tones are your thing then you need to go out and find this collection; the colors are beautiful, the quality is great, and it's a cheap option!

Quick Review: Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum

Today I thought that I would share a quick review on the No. 28 Primer Serum from Hourglass, a product that I've recently fallen in love with. Before I begin here's some info from Sephora:

"A richly concentrated, intensely hydrating, and dual-purpose oil blend serum that treats your skin as it prepares for makeup."
"This silky, luxurious oil blend glides on to strengthen the skin's natural moisture barrier, even out pores, and shield against environmental aggressors. The formula's hydrating action helps to create a refined and retexturized surface for makeup. Skin appears dewier, younger, and more luminous."
This primer is also formulated without parabens, sulfates, phtalates, and synthetic dyes.
I just have a sample here, but it's quite a generous one. This primer can be purchased in two sizes: 0.33 oz for $26CAN or 1 oz for $75CAN. I can see myself purchasing the smaller size once I'm done with this sample because I really do love it!
First of all, you don't need much product; a small dab is all you need for your entire face. The consistency is that of a serum (obviously) and is neither too thin or too thick. It applies easily and really does a lovely job at smoothing out the skin. It feels hydrating and helps any dry patches you might have so it's ideal for those with dry skin. Like the claims state, the skin also appears dewy and luminous. Overall, it just feels very luxurious!
While very soft and smooth once applied, I want to say that it's also the tiniest bit tacky, but it's hardly noticeable and doesn't interfere with foundation application. It simply helps your foundation to stick and last so that it still looks nice and fresh by the end of the day.
In short, I love this stuff and would definitely recommend it!
