Recently I got to try out six minis of Mary Kay's NouriShine Plus Lip Glosses, and today I'll be sharing my thoughts and swatches with you. The shades that I have here are Icicle, Beach Bronze, Fancy Nancy, Pink Luster, Berry Tart, and Red Passion, but there are also eight more shades to choose from.
L-R: Icicle, Beach Bronze, Fancy Nancy, Pink Luster, Berry Tart, Red Passion
Icicle is a standard clear gloss, Beach Bronze is (obviously) a bronze, Fancy Nancy is a peachy pink akin to something like NARS Orgasm, Pink Luster is a bright, yellow toned pink, Berry Tart is a cool violet, and Red Passion is a bright, warm red. As you can see from the swatches each shade also contains shimmer.
Mary Kay claims that their shades are rich, intense, and long wearing, and that these glosses will give you brilliant shine and an instant boost of moisture that will leave the lips feeling nourished. Unfortunately, I wouldn't really call the shades that I have rich or intense.. Even Red Passion, which I thought was the most opaque, became really sheer once applied to the lips. These glosses are on the tacky side (but not quite sticky which I hate) so they do have pretty good wear time though. As for leaving my lips feeling nourished? They were pretty comfortable to wear and my lips did feel a bit softer afterwards but it wasn't anything amazing. Overall, these are nice glosses but would I pay almost $20 for a full size? Personally, no. For that price I'd rather get myself a MAC gloss, and there are also plenty of great options at the drugstore if you wanted something cheaper. What are your thoughts?
