Urban Decay Naked On The Run Review & Swatches

Today I'll be reviewing Urban Decay's Naked On The Run palette ($64CDN), which I've had since December but just recently got around to photographing and actually using. It's a "limited edition, all-in-one travel palette loaded with exclusive eye shadows, blush, bronzer, lip gloss, and mascara - everything needed for a complete Naked makeup look". The palette is a bit bigger then my hand and has a sturdy magnetic closure.

Inside you get a tube of Perversion mascara in Blackest Black, a 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Stag, a full-sized tube of Naked Ultra Nourishing Gloss in Sesso, six exclusive eyeshadow shades, a bronzer, and a blush. Excluding base makeup, you pretty much have everything you need for a full face!

Let's start with the Perversion mascara.. It claims to be "an ultra creamy, lengthening, and volumizing mascara for stand-out lashes". The brush isn't too big or small and is made of traditional bristles which I love. Here's what 1-2 coats of Perversion looks like on my lashes:

I actually really like it! Urban Decay says that the formula has a "creamy, full-bodied texture that is not too dry and not too wet to allow just the right amount of pull as it glides through lashes", and I would agree with that statement. It may not give quite as much volume as I usually like but I really love the fluttery look that it gives me. The brush is super easy to use, I didn't experience any clumping, and it wore on me all day with no problems.

Next up is the 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Stag, a dark brown with subtle shimmer. This was my first time trying one of these pencils and I wish that I had sooner! They're described as "creamy eye pencils" that "deliver powerful, vibrant color that slides on smooth and stays soft and creamy for blending (about 30 seconds), then dries to a long-lasting finish that won't budge".

Here's Stag swatched with just a single pass. The pigmentation is pretty good but it can be layered for more opacity. It glides on smoothly and wears all day with no smudging which is awesome for a pencil liner. I've also used it in my waterline and after about eight hours with no touch-ups most of it was still there which is really impressive.. It may just become my new go-to for the waterline!

Next is the Naked Ultra Nourishing Gloss in Sesso, a rose/pink shimmer. It's described as a "super nourishing gloss" that "has an addictively creamy texture and a gorgeous, high-shine finish". I love the packaging of this gloss and the paddle shaped applicator makes application nice and easy.

The shade is really pretty, but unfortunately it doesn't really show up on my lips. It just adds shine and a very, very slight hint of color. Regardless, the formula is smooth, isn't sticky, and really does feel nourishing. Most of it wears off by an hour, but it leaves my lips both looking and feeling better which is great as someone with constantly dry lips! Let's move onto the eyeshadow now..

From left to right we have Dive (a metallic rose gold with micro-shimmer), Fix (a soft taupe matte), Resist (a medium metallic taupe), Dare ( a medium brown matte), and Stun (a metallic bronze gold with micro-shimmer). Each shade is gorgeous (can we talk about Dive, though? I literally gasped when I first swatched it) and they all work together perfectly. Urban Decay shadows are my favorite and these are no exception.. They were all smooth, pigmented, and overall lovely. They apply and blend easily, and when used with a primer I experienced no creasing or fading. So good, man.. So good.

Last but not least we have the bronzer (a medium bronze matte), blush (a vibrant pink with slight shimmer), and remaining eyeshadow in 50/50 (a cool bisque satin) which can also be used as a highlighter. Like the eyeshadows, these were all very smooth, nicely pigmented, and applied and blended well.

Overall, I think that this is a great palette whether you're going to be on the run or not. Each product is excellent quality on its own, but when used together they create a really fresh and effortless neutral makeup look. If it interests you then I would definitely go for it while it's still available!
